CRA: Weather in Cocoa Growing Areas to 16 August 2025

CRA has started adding to rain charts at KnowledgeCharts recent and past data from the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. The data eventually will cover more areas than now covered by Veriground stations, such as Brazil, and will include temperature and other variables. The data have a latency of about five days. West Africa. Despite multiple forecasts of rain moving into Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, amounts have stayed small and limited to few sites. The map below shows recent rain patterns taken from satellite monitoring by the European Copernicus Service and current as of 14 Aug. Rain has moved southward in recent weeks everywhere except in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. Forecasts as of 16 Aug see rain up to 50 mm reaching some Veriground sites in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana during the coming 24 hours. Reports of actual rain will begin to appear on the home and region pages by noon UTC 17 Aug.
